God Uses MySQL (by Jeremy Zawodny): "I'll be the first to admit that I have a bias towards PostgreSQL for db projects. I'll also admit that it isn't always the right tool for every job. In other cases either one could be used. As Jeremy already mentioned, each have different feature sets so they also have different strengths and weaknesses.

It's easy to ignore the strengths of the other when you are used to only using one.

I have some projects that use PostgreSQL and some that use MySQL.

So now we can add this to the list:

FreeBSD vs Linux
Vi vs Emacs
KDE vs Gnome
Perl vs Python|Ruby|PHP
PostgreSQL vs MySQL

Because we hadn't added anything to the 'holy war' list lately :-)"
